Solidarity and Housing Day Projects

In 2026, Solidarity and Housing Day will take place on Friday, September 18.

22 activities will take place in France. Please note that the number of spots for each project is limited. In Marseille, given the high number of registrations, we reserve the right to redirect you to another project.

The 2026 Projects

Project 1 Marseille

At a bed-and-breakfast in St Just, the project involves: – Assembling kitchen base cabinets – Maintaining outdoor areas (cleaning and pruning) – Clearing out the garage – Cleaning common areas (floors, windows, walls, and the inside of furniture)
Habitat & Humanism

Project 2 Marseille

In downtown Marseille, near the Saint-Charles train station, the project involves: – painting and cleaning windows, – assembling furniture and performing various small tasks, – planting vegetation on the rooftop terrace. Number of employees required:

Project 3 Marseille

At its space near the Porte d’Aix, the project will mainly involve painting and cleaning. The space has great potential but currently needs several pairs of hands to restore it and turn it into a welcoming and cozy space for young people. 30 volunteers needed

Saint-Chamas Project

The ADAMAL residential home in Saint-Chamas houses 5 young people. 🍽️ The kitchen is in particularly poor condition 🌿 The outdoor areas and living spaces need to be redesigned The project involves: – Beautifying, adding greenery, and redesigning the outdoor areas – Creating a warmer and more welcoming living space (dining room/living room) – Redesigning and modernizing the kitchen, which is in particularly poor condition.

Renovation of a house in the Bouches-du-Rhône region, including helping to sort through the garage and maintain the garden.

The 2025 Projects

In 2025, 20 community service projects took place in Franceand and 5 projects internationally: in Brazil,, in Morocco, in Luxembourg, andSpain.

On September 19, 2025, 400 employee volunteers carried out renovation and improvement work at shelters for people in precarious situations.

Thanks to their dedication, 5700 people were able to benefit from better reception conditions.

Project 1 Marseille

The project involves: – repainting the walls of the waiting room and removing the stickers, – installing a clear plexiglass cover on the outdoor table and varnishing the benches, – sprucing up the outdoor area, – cleaning the windows in the large room. 15 volunteers needed
Soliane

Project 2 Marseille

The project involves: – assembling a planter and a high table, and adding greenery to the outdoor space, – installing a self-adhesive backsplash in the kitchen area, – creating a relaxation area: assembling a bench, hanging pictures and applying stickers, – hanging wallpaper in the meeting room, – cleaning the windows and window frames. Project complete, registration closed

The project involves: – cleaning and repainting the association’s office, – assembling furniture and doing odd jobs, – a group workshop to prepare lunch. 20 volunteers needed

Project 4 Marseille

The project involves: – repainting the walls on the ground floor and in the stairwells, – performing carpentry work (replacing glass doors and locks), – assembling furniture, – sprucing up the outdoor patio (including tree pruning). 15 volunteers needed

Projects for 2024

In 2024, Solidarity and Housing Day took place on Friday, September 20. 

It mobilized nearly 400 volunteer employees to work on 20 community service projects.

Project 1 Marseille

Workshops to spruce up the future Marseille shelter—a place that offers welcome, a listening ear, care, support, and guidance to women who are victims of domestic, intra-family, sexual, and gender-based violence: – Signage project – Moving and setting up – Sorting donations (in partnership with volunteers from the Maison des femmes) – Painting work (gate, stairs, etc.)

Project 2 Marseille

Renovation project for a community center (primarily painting work) located on Rue Loubon in Marseille. The center serves approximately 40 people, including youth in the child welfare system and women who are victims of domestic violence.
Alternative social housing

Project 3 Marseille

The Action Bomaye space, located in the Aygalades neighborhood of Marseille, is a true hub of creativity where young people can explore a wide range of artistic and cultural activities. The activities planned for the day will primarily involve painting.

Aubignan Project

At Transition’Elles, a women’s shelter and collaborative space dedicated to providing support and facilitating physical, material, financial, social, and psychological recovery and reintegration for women who are victims of violence, the following activities will be carried out: – Installation of drywall – High-pressure cleaning of the terraces – Application of waterproof paint on one of the terraces – Painting of an emergency shelter room – Scrubbing and painting of the terrace railings – Sanding and painting of the “outdoor lounges” made from pallets

Chartres Project

The Jacques Bourgarel residential facility provides care for 45 adults with physical disabilities, with or without associated conditions. The facility offers two types of housing: private rooms within the facility itself, as well as detached units located near the facility. A multidisciplinary team addresses the needs of residents regarding all aspects of their daily lives. Major cleaning, painting, and decorating work within this facility.
