When marketing meets community spirit: Onet’s communications team supports HopHopFood

As part of its skills-based volunteering initiative, the Onet Foundation is dedicated to connecting nonprofit organizations with employees who wish to get involved. It was in this context that Onet’s marketing and communications team recently carried out a project with the nonprofit organization HopHopFood.

A charity initiative with Hop Hop Food

Hop Hop Food is a French nonprofit organization recognized as being of public interest, founded in 2016 with the goal of actively combating food waste and food insecurity by facilitating the charitable redistribution of food. Hop Hop Food’s mission is to connect those who have too much food with those who don’t have enough, by fostering local solidarity. The organization thus works toward a more equitable and eco-responsible society through a free mobile app.

The involvement of the marketing and communications team

To boost its visibility and streamline its communications, Hop Hop Food enlisted the expertise of Onet’s marketing and communications team as part of a skills-based sponsorship initiative coordinated by the Foundation.

For half a day, about twenty employees pitched in to support the organization in various ways:

  • Analysis of the current situation and proposal of a strategic action plan: digital, print media, and advertising materials
  • Challenge: Meeting the Future Social Enterprises in the Pharo, Catalans, St. Victor, and Corniche Neighborhoods

Objective: Identify a new local business to serve as a donor and improve the existing process.

This project enabled the organization to leave with practical tools and recommendations tailored to its needs and resources.

A rewarding personal and professional experience

Beyond the professional aspect, this project was a meaningful opportunity for collaboration. For Onet’s employees, it was also a chance to put their skills to work on a project with a social impact, in a setting different from their everyday routine.

“This assignment gave me the opportunity to accompany a volunteer from the organization directly in the field, which allowed us to raise awareness about the app among local merchants. It was very rewarding to feel useful while seeing the tangible impact of our efforts,” says Johanne Llarden, communications project manager at the Onet Group.

For the nonprofit, this support has been invaluable in helping them organize and professionalize their communications efforts, given that nonprofits often face constraints in terms of time and resources.

This project illustrates the Onet Foundation’s commitment to bridging the gap between the Group’s internal expertise and the needs of the nonprofit sector. It’s a wonderful way to show that everyone, in their own way, can help make a difference.
