Solidarity and Housing Day: Dedicated Project Leaders at the Heart of the Action

Held every September, Solidarity and Housing Day is a key event that mobilizes Onet Group employees in partnership with organizations working to address social exclusion, substandard housing, and housing insecurity.
Its goal? To promote access to decent housing and reaffirm the importance of solidarity in society.

One day, one cause, concrete actions

Celebrated around the world, this day is dedicated to bringing together those who are working on the ground to combat substandard housing. Staff members, partner organizations, and project leaders: everyone pitches in, united by a shared desire to make a difference, even if only a small one.

The concept is simple, but the results are tangible: for one day, teams of employee volunteers dedicate their work time to collaborating with nonprofit organizations to carry out a project in the field. This can range from sprucing up shelters to cleanup efforts, assembling furniture, or setting up spaces that provide support for people in need.

Project leaders: key players in community engagement

Every year, this day comes to life thanks to the dedication of project leaders. As volunteers, they choose to get involved in their local communities by coordinating a community service initiative with a local nonprofit. Their participation truly brings to life the connection between the business world and the nonprofit sector.

This day is not an end in itself, but a starting point. It illustrates what the Onet Foundation hopes to build over the long term: a supportive ecosystem where project leaders can find lasting partners and where employees can get involved in meaningful causes.

Safia Boudhar, branch manager of Onet Propreté et Services in Lille, volunteered for the second year in a row to coordinate this event with the nonprofit organization La Maison de Marthe et Marie.

“I wanted to lead a project again this year because I still have a strong desire to get actively involved in meaningful initiatives. This role allows me not only to put my organizational and interpersonal skills to use, but also to bring a team together around values such as solidarity and civic engagement, says Safia.

What now?

Of course, one day isn’t enough to solve the problems of substandard housing. But it can sow the seeds of collaboration, understanding, and commitment.

The Onet Foundation would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the upcoming Solidarity and Housing Day: our partner organizations, project leaders, and dedicated staff. Thanks to you, this event is truly meaningful.
