Home » Promoting Access to Hygiene: Collection and Community Outreach
This fundraising campaign also provided an opportunity to implement the skills-based volunteering program. This program allows employees to volunteer their time during work hours to support a nonprofit organization of their choice.
As part of the fundraising campaign, about ten employees from the Lyon teams were able to take part in a hands-on initiative in partnership with the UNISOAP organization, dedicating some of their time to a charitable cause.
UNISOAP is an organization that collects used soap from hotels and redistributes it to people in need. By recycling this soap, UNISOAP helps both the environment and improves access to hygiene.
Teams from Lyon helped put together 250 hygiene kits. These kits contain soap recycled by the organization, as well as other essential items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shampoo.
These kits were then donated to the organization Forum Réfugiés, which works to provide reception, housing, and support for refugees.
The initiative also fostered collaboration among various Group entities, specifically between the Onet Security and Reception teams and the Onet Cleaning and Services teams. This helped strengthen cohesion across several business lines.
The collection of hygiene products and the assembly of kits demonstrate the value of a commitment to solidarity built around concrete initiatives. Skills-based volunteering has proven to be an effective way to make a difference on the ground by engaging employees in a new way.
This type of commitment opens up new opportunities: any employee who wishes to do so has the chance to get involved within their company in a way that aligns with their values.
