Solidarity was once again in full force this year, as the Foundation threw its full weight behind the National Food Bank Drive. This annual event, which plays a vital role in supporting those most in need, helped raise essential resources thanks to the generosity of the public and the dedication of volunteers.
Rolled out nationwide, 17 Onet Group locations coordinated food drives at their sites, helping the organization and its partners carry out their charitable initiative across France. This collective effort was made possible by the enthusiasm and commitment of employees, who were proud to contribute to such an important cause. The impact of this initiative is measured in the tons of food collected, which will support thousands of families in need.
But beyond the numbers, what has emerged is a tremendous outpouring of solidarity and humanity: the 2.4 million people facing food insecurity will be able to receive support from more than6,000 organizations throughout the coming year.
In Marseille, employees from the corporate headquarters took over the management of a supermarket for two days. This was made possible as part of the Onet Group’s skills-based volunteering initiative. The employees who volunteered were able to coordinate the food drive directly within the store by appealing to customers’ generosity. Their involvement took place during their regular work hours.
This initiative also provided an opportunity to renew our partnership withthe IRSAM Association, which involved the young adults it supports in this fundraising effort alongside us.
This weekend’s food drive enabled the Bouches-du-Rhône Food Bank to collect 10% more than last year, which is the equivalent of 680,000 meals that can be distributed.
