The Onet Foundation has released its annual report for 2023, highlighting a series of initiatives and projects aimed at combating substandard housing and housing insecurity. Since its founding in 2010, the Foundation has been dedicated to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable through concrete actions and collective commitment.
This year, the Onet Foundation continued to pursue its core mission: “To contribute to human development in a healthy and safe local environment.” Its areas of focus are rooted in the belief that social integration is impossible without decent housing. By supporting organizations that assist people in need, the Foundation works to improve housing conditions, provide access to sanitation, and offer food assistance.
These initiatives are made possible by the commitment of the Group’s employees, whose numbers grow each year to meet the needs of nonprofit organizations.
The year 2023 was marked by several key events. Among them was the launch of the “Entreprendre pour toi” Endowment Fund, which embodies a collective entrepreneurial initiative aimed at combating economic insecurity in the Aix-Marseille-Provence region.
The Foundation supported three major projects during the second edition of La Nuit du Bien Commun in Marseille:La Maison de Marthe et Marie, Ensemble 2 Générations, and Cantina.
In addition, the Foundation coordinated several drives to collect hygiene products, children’s toys, and food in partnership with the National Food Bank Drive. These efforts helped meet the urgent needs of numerous organizations and their beneficiaries.
The Foundation’s flagship initiative, Solidarity and Housing Day, once again brought together dozens of employees to support community projects. In 2023, 16 projects were carried out in France and abroad, involving more than 300 volunteers. These initiatives helped improve the living conditions of more than 1,500 people.
Onet’s teams have thus helped with renovation, refurbishment, and cleaning work at various shelters for people in need.
The Onet Foundation has demonstrated its strong local presence through projects such as “Entreprendre pour les Marseillais délogés” (Entrepreneurship for Displaced Residents of Marseille), a direct response to the building collapses that occurred on Rue d’Aubagne in Marseille in 2018. This project, in collaboration with the organizations Soliha and Adoma, aims to help displaced households find permanent housing.
At the same time, the Foundation has expanded its activities internationally. Projects have been carried out in Luxembourg, Spain, Morocco, and Brazil, where teams have worked with local organizations to improve living conditions for the most disadvantaged communities. For example, in Brazil, teams collaborated with the NGO Habitat for Humanity Brazil to revitalize vegetable gardens and improve living spaces in the favelas of Paraisopolis.
