9th Annual Solidarity and Housing Day

On Friday, September 20, 2019, the Onet Foundation brought together numerous volunteers to work alongside local organizations and renovate buildings so that those most in need could have access to decent housing.

“Solidarity and Housing Day is one of the highlights of the Onet Foundation’s ongoing efforts. Every year, employees of the Group come together to improve the quality of life for those most in need. “Beyond being a collective effort, this day is an opportunity to reach as many people as possible and highlight the need to take action to combat substandard housing,” says Élisabeth Coquet Reinier, President of the Onet Foundation.

The Foundation was able to count on the support of dozens of employees from the Onet Group, who donated half a day of their paid time off (with the other half provided by the Group)

The Onet Foundation also relies on the participation of many volunteers from outside the Onet Group; for example, in Marseille, students from Lycée Pastré Grande Bastide have been involved.

From Marseille to Cherbourg, via Longjumeau, a wave of solidarity has emerged around nine community projects.

In Pierrelatte: About ten employees, in partnership with the Red Cross, renovated Vestiboutique, a local community-based grocery store.

In Creil: More than twenty volunteers continued the renovation of the Louis Blanc social housing complex, run by the Coallia association, which began in 2018. This complex provides housing for isolated individuals facing difficulties in integrating into society.

In Cherbourg: The ADSEAM association’s offices were repainted by a team of dedicated volunteers.

In Longjumeau, Essonne: Onet employees cleaned and improved the green spaces and stripped and painted the Emmaus premises.

In Brest: The facilities where Secours Populaire distributes food packages to recipients were renovated by 10 staff members.

In Valenciennes: the offices of Prim’Toit, an organization that develops comprehensive policies to support the integration of disadvantaged groups and promotes youth development, have been renovated.

In Tours: Staff and residents of the Le Hameau Saint Michel boarding house, run by the Soliha association, worked together to improve this facility, which is home to 22 residents.

In Chartres: The Foyer Accueil Chartrain was cleaned and repainted by a team of 15 dedicated staff members and volunteers.

In Marseille: The SOS Group’s La Selonne CHRS, which provides shelter for single men in need, was renovated by about 100 staff members and outside volunteers, including students from Lycée Pastré Grande Bastide, with whom the Onet Foundation has been partnering for four years.
